I Don't Fight

It started off as a pretty regular night, relaxing and sitting back on the couch with a few friends. My roommates and I and the normal crew of guys we hung out were at the normal house we stayed; all our heads bobbing to the beat of the song. We were planning on possibly going out later in the night. I had my girls and a nice cold one in my hand so I was prepared to just go with the flow and stay hydrated. Strange faces began to arrive randomly during the night. In two or packs of three stumbling drunkies began to wonder off the streets and into the living room. I was just conversing with my friends laughing and having a good time until I was asked, “Do you know anyone here?”
“Not really,” I replied suddenly out of our own little world and looking around.
“There are so many people here and I only know half of them”
This was odd because usually we knew everyone that hung out in this house. The friends I knew brought friends I didn’t know and their friends came too.
They were all huddled whispering to each other and looking over at my roommates and me. The music was blasting and I didn’t think much of it so I decided to move from my chair and mingle a bit. I saw Ricky, who had become a close friend and the only face I could recognize in the kitchen. He wanted me to follow him outside, so I did. We got in an intense conversation about the strangers in the house and how I only knew the people who weren’t even there. Ricky was a little plastered, but so was I. Sitting down and consuming is never smart. When you stand up, it's like you have entered a different world. Ricky told me he wanted to see a girl fight. I didn't know a soul in the house at this point, but I was ready to impress anyone who challenged me. Everything felt so fast. One moment I was looking around confused at the faces I saw then I was outside with Ricky being turned on to a fight. I heard whispering in the house before, but I didn’t think it was about me (I thought).
“Mad Bitches are talking shit about you,” Ricky said to me and this random kid smoking a but on the porch.
“No way,” I said. “I’ll fight any Bitches that try to mess with me, I’m here every day, and they have no right to talk shit.”

“So you want to fight them too” Ricky’s eyes were wide and blood shot. Glazed over and excited when I watched him walk inside.
I could hear his voice echoing in the hallway as I walked up the stairs after him. As soon as I turned the corner a rather large girl stepped towards me and yelled obnoxiously."So you want to fight me?"
“Ah ah, what?”

“You want to fight me? You want to fight me?" she screamed

"Ah, ah, ya."

Boom! I was on the couch. After the conversation with Ricky, I wasn't back in the chair. I was helpless on the couch being attacked by a larger stranger. Ricky had to tell her I wanted to fight; he had to start unwanted drama. I was totally out of my element at this point. The night went completely opposite of what I expected. My chill night with the girls ended up being and unexpected girl fight. I have never fought a soul in my life. Confused and motionless she just kept swinging. I honestly did not want anything to do with fighting. I thought that house was a safe place for me and that I would never have to fight or defend myself in it. My friends weren’t even around me; she chose to hit me when I was around strangers? “Come on,” this happened out of nowhere.
